Who this suits, and who it does not
PRP works on a follicle that has miniaturised. It does nothing for one that has gone, which is why the timing of the first appointment matters more than the choice of treatment.

What hair PRP does to a follicle
Platelet-rich plasma is your own blood, spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and remove the rest. The concentrate carries growth factors, and injected into the scalp it acts on follicles that have shrunk rather than died: the aim is to thicken the hair those follicles still produce and to slow the shrinking.
Because the material comes from your own body there is nothing foreign to react to, which is most of the practical argument for it over anything introduced from outside.
What a hair PRP session involves
Assessment first
The pattern, the timeline, a scalp examination, and bloods where they are warranted. Thyroid function and iron are the two results that most often explain hair loss outright, and treating those treats the hair.
A blood draw
Taken at the start of the appointment, in the clinic. Nothing is sent away and nothing is ordered in.
A spin in the centrifuge
Separating the plasma and concentrating the platelets while you wait.
Injection into the scalp
Into the thinning area. Some tenderness on the day is normal; there is otherwise minimal downtime.
A course, then a review
Sessions spaced several weeks apart, then a look at photographs rather than an impression. A single session is not the treatment.

The clinic is clean, the staff are professional and welcoming, incredibly efficient. The clinic interior design also calming and made my visits less anxious. The doctors here (Dr. Chan & Dr. Kon - sorry if misspelled) are very attentive, explain briefly to me what the do's and don'ts on after care treatments and for future preventions.
